Muscle Building For Women - What's The Possibilities And The Limitations?

Both men and women are able to build up a significant amount of muscles by eating right and training with weights. Men however will be able to build more muscles as well as more rapidly than women due to different hormonal levels among the two genders. In order for a woman to build up a noticeable amount of muscle mass she'll need to push for a high intensity in weight training and eat a proper diet.

How Muscle Grow

Muscle growth occurs when your muscle fibers are constantly overloaded with heavy weight lifting. This will cause the worked muscles to be left damaged by  the end of the workout session. These damaged muscle tissues will respond by repairing with an increase in size and and a higher quantity of contractile proteins, which will ultimately make the trainee end up with an increase in size of muscle fibers.

Understanding Testosterone

Testosterone is the principal sex hormone in men and it plays a key role regulating muscle mass.
One key function of testosterone is it increases protein synthesis within cells, which results in the build up of cellular tissue (anabolism), especially in muscles. The plasma concentration of testosterone in men is about 7-8 times as great as the concentration of women on average. This distinction result in males to have more noticeable muscle build ups than women when trained in the same way.

Women Can Build Muscle With The Right Workout Program

Despite having a much lower testosterone level than men, women can still build up noticeable amounts of muscle mass by consistently taking part in a good weight training program that is specifically designed to induce muscle growth. This program should incorporate a good rep and set scheme for maximum intensity. However, unless you're a woman who plans to get into professional bodybuilding you should minimize the amount of muscle mass you put on your body, which should be pretty easy because building muscle takes time, intensity and hard work.

There are many female models and celebrities that train with weights but they do not look overly muscular neither do they look masculine in appearance. The weight lifting basically caused them to have a nicer tone in appearance. I believe if you're woman who want to get into weight training to build muscle your aim should be to get the slim and toned body type.

Tyson Beckford Workout And Diet Approach For Building And Maintaining His Body

Former male model Tyson Beckford's stunning lean and muscular physique didn't come by accident or chance. According to statements made by Beckford, who is also an actor, about his diet and workout routine it's clear that his approach is focused on maintaining the lean and muscular look.

Tyson was skinny when he started out building muscle. He said his successful body development was due to hitting the gym hard and eating right. Of course, when you're skinny you must make a strong commitment to follow your workout regime properly so you can see growth. And remember, when you're working out to build muscle for the first time it's a great opportunity to gain muscle rapidly. You just need to use the right diet and workout plan to guide you along the right path.

Where did Tyson Beckford Get Guidance

If you're reading articles online to increase your knowledge about building muscle you're doing the same thing Tyson Beckford did to help guide him to build his body. Tyson said that reading information on fitness websites and magazines gave him ideas for his routine. He said he didn't use a personal trainer like most celebrities to achieve his transformation. He did it all on his own by using written muscle building information as his guide.

I want to believe that Beckford who was once listed on People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" and also considered as one of the most successful male models in the industry may have read articles written by Rusty Moore, because his approach is very similar to the aim of Visual Impact Muscle Building. Well, the fact that he was a model makes it very important for him to avoid the huge and bulky look. Because models build just and average amount of muscle to get their body to look attractive. They don't go for an excessive amount of muscle mass like bodybuilders. For that reason, if you're aiming to build muscle to look attractive, you need to aim for the ultra lean and muscular physique like male models

Bulking Up Gives You More Body Fat

Bulking up refers to the common workout practice of gaining muscle fast by adding large amounts of extra calories into your diet. Some people believe that you can gain more muscle mass quickly if you have extra calories lying around in your body. The problem with this is, you may gain muscle mass true, but the bulking up ends up making you gain noticeable amounts of fat as well. Despite being a practice often used by bodybuilders, bulking up is not a good idea.

Fat Cells Are Not Your Friends

Although you can shrink fat cells, once you have them in your body they are with you forever. This is one of the really bad things about them. You just can't lose them, no matter how hard you try. It is extremely frustrating. Now, there is an upside-you can get lean. You just have to be very careful because it's easier to gain weight back if you have a large number of fat cells lurking around.

The Challenge to Stay Lean

Someone who is very obese can have up to three times the actual number of fat cells compared to someone who has been thin for all of their life. An obese person has to work much harder to maintain a smaller size, because of the fat cells that they already have. Fighting the fat cells either has to be a way of life or they will just keep storing that excess body fat. Someone without excess body fat can usually stay that way with much less effort.

Keep the Fat Away From the Start

The main reason that "bulking up" is a bad idea is that people are intentionally increasing their fat cells, often doing so rather quickly. Once they "bulk up," they are at risk for gaining weight again, even if they do become lean. Many times you'll see bodybuilders gaining 40-50 pounds after a competition, just because they have those fat cells waiting to be filled again! Staying lean and gaining muscle over time is a slower process, but maintaining it over the long haul is much easier to do.

Keep Working at Staying Lean

If you have been overweight in the past, you may have a harder time staying lean, but it is definitely not impossible! You can make it easier to stay lean by following my recommendations, especially doing "cardio workouts on an empty stomach." This strategy alone will make a huge difference, especially for anyone who's previously been overweight. It's important to keep those fat cells from expanding again. Put in the effort, and you will see the results!

Staying Lean in the First Place is Easiest!

Avoiding gaining the excess fat in the first place is the best way to stay lean. Keeping yourself in a healthy range is not difficult with regular workouts and using strategies to stay lean. Try your best to stay on top of the process, and you won't find yourself in the frustrating position of trying to lose excess body fat. It's much easier that way!

How To Build Muscle Without Looking Huge And Bulky - Best Guidelines To Build Muscle To Look Attractive

It is no doubt, there are many guys who want to build muscle but don't want to become too huge or bulky. This aim is especially necessary when your main goal for building muscle is to enhance the appearance of your body and be a little stronger, and not to look like a professional bodybuilder with huge and bloated muscles all over your body.

Surely, a bloated overly muscular physique must be avoided if you want to wear normal clothes, be effective in sports and look appealing to the ladies. The following guidelines taken from Rusty Moore creator of Visual Impact Muscle Building will help you learn how to avoid becoming huge and bulky when building muscle, and instead get the lean and angular look like movie stars and fitness models.

Gaining Muscle Where You Want It Is Very Important

According to Rusty Moore, if you are in the gym and your only concern is to quickly gain lots of muscle mass by focusing only on the standard way of lifting for building muscle this may contribute to the problem. What is likely to happen is that most of these attained muscle will end up on your legs, butt and hips, and the rest evenly distributed over the rest of your body. Muscles gained in this way will most likely create a bulky and terrible looking physique. So even if you are very good at gaining pure muscle quickly , if it appears in the wrong places on your body it will not look very impressive.

You Can't Control What You Look Like By Just Sticking To The Basics

Rusty also stated the common advice of just sticking to the big lifts like deadlifts, squats, and bench press is great if you just want to add mass and don't care what you wind up looking like. This approach is the quickest way to putting on lots of muscle mass. However, the problem lies in the fact that the appearance of your physique is left up to chance and lots of guys who follow this approach end up looking like a professional bodybuilder with big butt, upper legs and hips.

Here is a video taken from Rusty Moore's presentation on the Visual Impact Muscle Building official site explaining this.

Increasing The Size Of The Right Muscle Groups Is The Way To Create The Desired Look

The approach of targeting the muscles that you need to grow and backing down on everything else will give you the impressive look writes Rusty. Adding the right amount of mass for your shoulders, arms and chest can transform the way you look without making you look overly muscular or unbalanced. If you want a bigger chest with a special focus on increasing your upper chest, then dramatically increase the volume on various incline presses, incline flyes, hammer strength machines, etc. To compensate for that increase in volume specifically for your chest, back off a bit when it comes to some of your other body parts. 15-20 sets per workout for muscle groups you are trying to add size to is recommended for getting the right amount of mass.

It's also a great idea to setup your workouts so that the targeted muscle group gets worked more often than the other muscle groups. You can also get impressive results by using a combination of free weights, cables, and machines when aiming for muscle growth.

Recommended Time Period For Working On A Specific Body Part

It is recommended to specialize for 2-3 months on a body part, then have a more balanced routine for 1-2 months (as a precaution to ensure that you don't neglect the other muscles). The idea is to systematically build an ideal physique by giving selective attention to body parts that need extra work.

Bulking Up With Calories Just Puts More Excess Fat On Your Body

Rusty also strongly advice avoiding bulking up when eating to build muscle. Though you need to eat sufficient calories to gain muscle you should not consume more food than you need. Excessive consumption of calories will give you more body fat to deal with. And, body fat is very hard to lose even though they're easy to gain. Lots of guys who bulk up gets stuck with too much fat stored on their body making their physique look bloated and bulky.

The above is just general info to guide you to gain a lean and angular physique that looks attractive instead of the huge rounded bodybuilder type look when building muscle. For a complete program that covers building muscle while staying lean and ripped through the entire process you should check out Visual Impact Muscle Building.
