How Can A Woman Get A Slim Body?

If you're a woman that's aiming to get a slim body, welcome to the article that'll guide you properly to achieve this goal. Most guys aim is to have a lean and muscular physique. On the other hand, while there are many women that enjoy building muscle, the majority of women will be contented with just losing fat and maintaining a slim figure. Slimming down and getting into better shape is a dream that lots of women consistently wish to turn into a reality, but they're often times set back by lack of the right knowledge to make this happen or they just do not have the motivation to take action and stick to it.

Basically, there is only one thing lying between you and getting the slim and well trimmed body of your everyday dreams. This unwelcomed possession is no other than excess body fat. Therefore, another way to refer to 'getting a slim body' is 'losing excess body fat'. You'll learn in this article how to lose your surplus of fat and reveal the slim physique that is covered up underneath. When you successfully reach this point there is no doubt your confidence will be boosted and you'll be able to do things that you couldn't have done before.

Why You Have Excess Body Fat?

It'll be unwise to try tackling a problem without first learning why you're there in the first place. People accumulate excess fat from overeating. That doesn't mean that you rammed more food in your stomach during meals after being filled. Overeating simply means you ate more food than was needed for your level of physical activity at least on some days. You see, food is needed for giving your body energy to function daily. The unit of measurement for this energy is called calories. Each and every movement your body makes uses up calories. When you consume foods high in calories and don't use all of it through physical activities, guess what.....you gain fat, causing you to drift further and further away from a slim body.

What Needs To Be Done To Lose The Excess Fat?

This is where it gets tricky. Mainly, fat loss includes diet - eating in a special way to control calorie intake, and exercise - making the body move to burn off stored calories. However, losing body fat is a very popular and also very controversial topic. There are many approaches to losing fat that are considered to be unsafe and other approaches that are not really unsafe but may be ineffective. My aim in this article is to fill you in on the safe and effective way of getting a slim body. I'll explain the appropriate things to do under both diet and exercise that'll allow you to burn your excess body fat and finally get the body that'll have you smiling whenever you look in the mirror.

Diet - Eating To Get A Slim Body

As said, eating too much calories and not burning all of it off is what leads to weight gain. Therefore, controlling your eating habits is certainly necessary for burning fat. Basically, you'll need to control the quantity of food you're eating as well as the type of foods included in your diet to get a lean and healthy body.

You'll need to eat less food in general, but you do not have to starve yourself. The idea is to reduce your consumption of foods that'll quickly cause fat to be stored in your body especially sugary and fat foods. Some type of foods you most surely need to avoid are cakes, sweet drinks, sodas, chocolate, ice-cream margarine, butter, oil and fast-foods. A once in awhile approach to eating some of these foods in moderation won't prevent you from getting slim, but you must stick to controlling yourself. Celebrities such as Jordin Sparks and Jennifer Hudson who've drastically slimmed down said this was the technique they used to successfully achieve their weight loss.

Exercise - Working Out To Get A Slim Body

If you want a slim body fast, you'll need to take a strategic approach to exercising for fat loss. This will largely involve the types of exercise that you perform. But, other factors such as the number of hours and days spent exercising also matters.

The best approach is to use a balanced program that combines the use of cardio activity and strength training for the most effective and fastest fat loss results. You can simply do walking and jogging as your type of cardio. 30-45 minutes of walking 5 days a week will have great effect.

If you have access to a gym or have your own exercise equipments, you have an advantage to mix up various exercises for increased effectiveness. It's recommended to use a balanced program that combines the use of cardio activity and strength training for the most effective and fastest results.

Why perform a combination of the two? Here's why...

Cardio exercise such as running on a treadmill, riding an exercise bike and climbing on a stair simulator or elliptical machine, both at a moderate and high intensity level, increases heart rate and burns calories. Strength training exercises such as free weights, machine weights and pushups builds muscle tissues, and  muscles also help burn fat. Therefore, you'll be increasing the pace at which you get a slim body when your exercise program includes performing both types of exercise.

How To Start Your Journey To Getting A Slim

Once you begin making changes to your diet and increase your level of physical activity you'll soon start seeing the weight going down. Start off by reducing the consumption of fat and sugary foods in your diet. Make a schedule to start walking and jogging or join a gym to get your daily exercise. I think one of the biggest factors that prevent women from starting a diet and exercise plan to lose weight is fear of failure. They believe they would not be able to keep up with their routine and see results.

Honestly, it's not as hard as you think. You can use a flexible program that's suitable for your specific situation and individual goals. You may want to focus more on diet over exercise or focus on exercise more. This can also work well once you do it properly. I recommend using a program that's professionally designed to guide you properly according to the approach you want to use. Here are the top programs I recommend below:

Lose Body Fat Not Muscle - How To Lose Body Fat Without Losing Muscle

4 Tips To Reduce Body Fat Without Losing Muscle

Like many people that work out, you probably have a bit more excess fat stored on your body than you would like. Lots of guys who are in gyms lift hard during the year to gain mass, but they also have gained some fat during this period of time. If you want to get an attractive body, you will need to bring your body fat percentage a low level.

Reduce Body Fat Without Losing Muscle Tip 1: Continue to Lift Heavy During This Dieting Period

One common thing people do wrong is that they want to lift at high reps to acheive muscle tone. Muscle tone is mainly brought about by having a low body fat level, not the type of lifting you are performing. The reason you want to continue lifting heavy and gain strength is because you need to make sure you don't lose that muscle you've worked hard to earn. If you lift light at high reps, your body would not have a reason to keep that muscle mass.

Reduce Body Fat Without Losing Muscle Tip 2: Reduce Body Fat at A Slow Rate

You need to give yourself sufficient time to get lean. Many people try to get into shape 2 months before summer or a vacation. I recommend preparing at least 3-4 months, if you want to get ultra-lean without losing your muscle mass. The slower you reduce body fat, the less likely you will lose muscles. This makes sense because in order to lose body fat you need to consume less calories than what you use up and you need to perform a significant amount of cardio. In order to drop fat quickly, you have to go too low in calories to maintain the current amount of muscle you have. You will lose muscle mass. If you create a slight calorie deficit and lose only 1 to 2 pounds a week, you are much better off.

Reduce Body Fat Without Losing Muscle Tip 3: Perform High Intensity Interval Training

High Intensity Interval Training is the best form of cardio to burn off body fat without losing muscle mass. To confirm this, let's compare these 2 different types of cardio in a real life setting. Sprinters have much more muscle than marathon runners. Sprinters perform a quick burst of effort, followed by a period of resting. Marathon runners train using the "slow and steady cardio" that is recommended by most trainers. I don't know about you, but I would rather look like a sprinter. When you hit cardio, alternate intense sprinting type efforts for 30 seconds followed by a minute or so of a less intense effort. Continue this pattern for 15 minutes. You will burn body fat while keeping that hard earned muscle.

Reduce Body Fat Without Losing Muscle Tip 4: Eat a "Realistic" Strict Diet

If your diet plan is too strict, you would not be able to stick to that diet for very long. My rule of thumb is this. I try to make sure that at least 75% of my meals are really clean and low calorie. If I decide to eat a bit of junk, I will try to make sure I do so after a long and hard workout. Also, I will eat low carbs during the day before my workout, to maximize the amount of fat burned in my workout. If you have too much carbs in your system while working out, your body will burn carbs instead of the fat off your body. This really makes a big difference in your quest to reduce body fat.

Cardio Workout To Burn Fat - The Best Cardio Workout to Burn Fat Quickly

The 2 Different Common Approaches To Cardio Workout

When it comes to burning body fat, there are a few different approaches for you to chose from. Most trainers would recommend that you take the low intensity approach to cardio. The concept of doing your cardio at a level of low intensity is that most of the calories that's burned will be coming from body fat. Lots of folks believe that if you workout too hard, you are burning off carbohydrate energy in the body and not targeting fat. Many people claim that more total calories are burned if people exercise at a higher level of intensity. They conclude that if you just burn more calories than you consume in a day, you will lose body fat. So now we will look in more detail at each school of thought.

Low Intensity Cardio Workout Approach

Low intensity cardio is the most popular form of cardio and is promoted by many personal trainers. Low intensity cardio works at targeting body fat and that is why it is recommended by many personal trainers. University studies have proven low intensity cardio uses fat calories instead of burning muscle carbohydrate calories for energy. If the body burns fat for energy, you will lose body fat. It just makes sense. It is important to choose cardio machines that can track your heart rate. It will let you monitor your heart rate during your cardio workout to allow you to hit the ideal intensity level. After about 10 minutes or so, you should be close to reaching your ideal heart rate. Staying within that target heart rate for at least 30 minutes is what is recommended by most experts.

The High Intensity Cardio Workout

This form of cardio is less utilized. High intensity training involves pushing past your pain threshold a bit, so fewer people choose this route. This cardio method can give great results in burning body fat if done properly. The total calories burned in high intensity cardio are greater than low intensity cardio. Some of those calories come from your body fat and some come from glycogen (carbohydrates stores within your muscles). When you burn more calories in your cardio workout than what you consume, you create a calorie deficit. If you burn a more calories during the day than what you eat in food, you will lose weight.

The Limitations of the 2 Types of Cardio Workouts

Once you get your heart rate up to the correct level, the low intensity cardio workout will burn body fat. The downside is that it can take up to 10 minutes to get your heart rate to the correct level to burn body fat. The first 10 minutes of this cardio workout are somewhat unproductive. High intensity cardio is hard to maintain for long periods of time since it takes a lot of effort. Working at an intense level for over 10-15 minutes is extremely difficult.

How to Combine The Two Approaches Into One Awesome Cardio Workout

When performed in a certain manner, it is possible to benefit from doing both types of cardio in the same workout. You can make the first ten minutes of the low intensity cardio workout productive, by starting your cardio workout off at a high intensity level. Find a treadmill or exercise bike and set it at a high level. Push yourself really hard for 10-15 minutes. Once you are really working up a sweat, switch to a low intensity and keep it there for 20-30 minutes. This will burn calories and create a calorie deficit as well as burning body fat during the workout. I maintain an 8% body fat percentage year round using this cardio approach.

Lose Body Fat Fast - How To Lose Fat Quickly For An Upcoming Event

There are certain times in life when you don't just want to lose fat quickly, but you need to. For instance, if you are planning to go on a vacation to a tropical location like Hawaii, you are going to enjoy your trip much more if you're confident that you look great. You will surely look your best if you are able to lose fat and look great in a swimsuit.

Your Face Will Look Better at a Lower Body Fat Percentage

This is something that people don't talk about very much, but when you are leaner your face will look better. For men you will be able to gain that square jaw and women will be able to see high cheekbones and have less fat around the neck. Obviously this will help you look your best for photos when you are on vacation or attending a wedding, etc.

You Can Actually Lose a Significant Amount of Body Fat in 3 Weeks

Hopefully, you have more than 3 weeks to get in shape, but if you don't you will still be able to lose body fat quickly enough to make a big difference. Here is a 21 day plan I use before every vacation that has worked wonders for me as well as those I give advice to.

1) Hit the Cardio hard at Least One Hour Per Day

2) Don't Eat or Drink Any Carbs at All 4-6 Hours Before Your Cardio

3) Drink Green Tea or Black Coffee 30 Minutes Before Your Cardio

4) Eat "Low Calorie" and "Low Carb" Throughout the Day

5) If You Are Dying For Carbs, Only Eat Them Following a Hard Workout

6) Total Daily Calories Equals "Body Weight" x 8

7) Lift Weights 4-5 Times Per Week

Note: This is just a short term 21 day plan...you will lose muscle if you go longer than 21 days on this plan.

The most crucial part is that you are performing at least one hour of cardio in a fasted state for 21 days in a row. Very few people have ever done cardio for 21 days in a row. You will be amazed at how well this works. I have been able to lose body fat quickly by following this plan in the past and you will too. Give this a shot, you will see great results.

How To Lose Fat To The Maximum By Maintaining The Right Intensity Of Your Workout

If you are trying to maximize fat loss or increase the definition of your muscle I suggest you use the methods below.

I usually favour keeping strength training apart from the fat loss part of the workout. It's best to achieve muscle definition using heavy weights and brief strength training at a low volume. Your muscles will firm up and you will begin to see an improvement in muscle definition this way. Usually, the easiest part of any workout is training for strength. With any workout program, the calorie burning (fat loss) part is the most intense and difficult. It's best to include an intense fat burning routine into your workout at least 3 times weekly. You can use whatever method of circuit workout or strategic interval that you want, including HIIT and body weight circuits.

You Won't Gain An "After Effect" Utilizing Low Intensity During A Workout.

Often times, when I'm in the gym, I see persons carrying out a fat loss workout lacking intensity in it. If you are not resting or cooling down for the next part of your workout, walking on a treadmill is useless. When you do a cardio workout that is low intensity, you are not maximizing the amount of calories you could be burning.

Also Pay Careful Attention To Avoid A Workout That Is Too High In Intensity As Well

You will very likely get caught up resting for longer periods of time when you are finished with your routine, if it is too intense or difficult. For the most effective fat loss workout, you should be able to go on without extra breaks as if you never worked out at all. If you become overly tired and spend hours sitting down or resting after a workout, your fat loss workout is ineffective.

How Would You Find Out If You Are Working Out With The Right Intensity For Your Fat Loss Routine?

Pay attention to something called the "HGH Flush" I am not sure where this term originated from, but it does serve as a wonderful tool for rating your fat loss workout. You will know when you reached the HGH flush when you run out of breath, with hot slightly red skin after each workout. Try to remember how hot and out of breath you felt, after the gym teacher had you run lines in junior high. HGH is a hormone released by your body to burn fat when your metabolism is suddenly increased by heavy activity, like a high energy workout.

Your Comfort Zone Can Also Guide You If You Keep Your Workouts Just Inside It's Limit.

I saw personal trainers push their clients too hard early in a routine, which is a major mistake. I once hired a personal trainer who wanted to "destroy me" with each workout. That wasn't for me. The ideal workout intensity will help you reach a HGH flush, without leaving you so exhausted that you want a nap. In regards to workout intensity, I refer to this as the "sweet spot". You can start increasing your intensity as your body adjusts. However, pay close attention and back off a bit if you find yourself overly tired after a workout.
